My Diet Dairy will not sync - Andriod App

When I go to sync in the my diet dairy it will not sync.  It has worked before and just began to stop working.  I can log into the site and see my previous information.  The app says that I should check my internet connection, however it is working fine...

On the phone app I can successfully login to forums.  Seems strange that one works an the other doesn't.

Hello,

I'm sorry you are having problems with the app. It would be really helpful if you also could tap on Settings in the app, then Support, and send us an email. If you could say "yes" when it asks you to send data, we will be able to check things out from our end. If you need more specific instructions for your app on your device, just let us know, as these are general instructions.

This will allow us to capture your data, and what type of device you use the app on, and what version of the app you are having. If you could type in the email that you posted here, and a brief explanation of the issue, that would be great. If you have some specifics of what hasn't synced, that would be great, too.

We appreciate it, and apologize for any inconvenience this causes.

Emily

I think saving and quiting works for a day where you've already done a Force Stop and then synced. When you get to the next day it doesn't work until you do another Force Stop.

I need to modify my answer, occasionally quiting and restarting will cause an update but it's not consistent.

Closing the app does nothing, the only thing that works is doing a Force Stop.

If you fully close the app (hit your back button again and again till you land on your home page), then open the app, does it sync then?

The only way that I've been able to get the app to sync is to do a Force Stop (drag the app to App Info and then do a force stop). After a Force Stop and then re-opening the app the app will be synced with the website.

There is no update available in Google Play so I  assume I have the latest version however there is no way to tell because you don't have the version number in the about box or in Google Play.

I have the My Diet Diary App installed on my Nexus 7 and on my Galaxy Nexus, they hardly ever sync. It's not never, they have synced a couple of times but they usually don't. There doesn't seem to be any mechanism to make them sync. I've tried logging out and in, I've tried adding a diary event, nothing works. Adding a diary event on a mobile device does transfer data to the website but it doesn't get any data back. Also it doesn't update the tracker status on the home page. For example I added 60 minutes of walking to the exercise tracker on my Galaxy Nexus, it shows up on the chart on the website but the tracker status on the home page shows that it was last updated four days ago.

Another really serious bug with syncing is if you put an diary entry into the mobile app it wipes out the data on the website. For example I had entered my breakfast on the website, I then entered a snack on the mobile app. The snack appeared on the website and my breakfast disappeared.

Hi there -

Have you updated to version 1.2.2?  We released it recently, and it fixed a lot of sync issues.

Please send me a PM and let me know if it works.
