weight tracker ticker widget

Hi,

I notice you have integrated information on different trackers so that symptoms relevant to different trackers are recorded in both places. THANKS! The continual improvements to the site are really great.

I do have one suggestion regarding the weight ticker (which I have displayed on my blog). The one which is shown as a scale of numbers and shows where your goal is and where your current weight is along the axis.

I realize that right to left would ordinarily be correlated with lower to higher levels of progress toward a goal (i.e., the goal is "out ahead" of you,) but I find it counter intuitive that the numbers are displayed in decreasing order. We're used to reading any x-axis with numbers in increasing order, so I do a double take when I see this representation. It's also odd because the widget really seems to look like a doctor's scale, with the marker that one slides along the rail to the correct number, in which case the "goal" number would be at the lower end of the scale, i.e. to the left.

Any chance you guys might switch the order of the numbers, or at least make it an checkbox option for those of us who like that at-a-glance representation to fit with our cognitive models of how numbers are displayed?

Thanks again for all of the great work you've been doing on improving the usability and utility of the site. It's great.

Thanks for the very articulate suggestion. You make a very good point. We've always wanted to add new tickers so that our users can choose the image that they want to display. We'd also like to make them configurable so that you can choose whether the goal is to the right or to the left. Unfortunately, we're not sure when we'll be able to get to this, but when we do, we'll definitely keep this in mind.

Thanks,
