help me out please

by jess1917, Jul 29, 2009 02:40PM
i am 17 years old and i used to wet my bed every night till the age of 14-15 then it eased a bit but it still continues till now(not every night though but quite often). i get frequent urges to urinate and most times i only go like two drops and sometimes i get a pain in my lower abdominal area. i hate this situation but it seems like i was born with it. Apart from that i have really low vision and frequent headaches, i also lack coordination, i cant do two things at once. my mind shuts out one and concentrates on the other. I am a university student and its really hard for me to cope with my lecturers because i cant concentrate on one thing for two long, i get headaches.....terrible ones....
i also have the unique ability of the curse to dislocate me arms and my legs from their ball and socket joints and put them back in without pain,my joints are very week hence i have no control of those joints. when i lift something heavy my hands would dislocate and get longer and the weight is on the muscle and the ligaments. I am very confused with all those symptoms and i cant seem to really figure out whats wrong with me.. can u help me please???

HI, This is the incontinence forum so I can't address your joint problems, you would need to consult an Orthopedic specialist.  The bed wetting problem is a common one with 1% of 15 yrs still wetting the bed.  There are multiple reasons for bed wetting but at your age it's probably a delay in the brain's ability to control the bladder and inhibit it from contracting, coupled with an arousal problem when urgency occcurs at night but you don't wake up to void. It sounds like you also have some day time urgency.  This problem is similar to overactive bladder, a problem seen commonly in adults.  The treatment is an overactive bladder drug like Ditropan.  It is approved for children with overactive bladder problems. Talk to your pediatrician who should be able to treat this easily, although a few teenagers are very hard to get dry.  I usually treat patients, get them dry, them keep them dry for 6 months then try to ween off treatment.  The good news is that almost everyone eventually outgrows the bedwetting problem at some point.  Good Luck
