Nail problems with IP

My 14yo daughter has IP. She has the classic hypo pigmented streaks on the back of her legs, missing teeth, and frizzy hair. She has problems with her nails off and on. Both of her index fingers are sore and red; they have a rounded look to them at the cuticle area like a knot under them. When I was reading messages from others with IP on the IPIF family chat room, I saw several people mention surgeries and even amputations. I was wondering if what my daughter is going through with hers nails maybe similar.

Did you ever find out more information on the issue your daughter was having with her nails?  How is she doing now?
