Gonorrhea and/or Chlamydia test failure?

In May of 2015, I went to planned parenthood to get tested for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea. They did a pelvic exam and swabbed out 2 samples. The lady went back and looked under a microscope at the samples. She came back and said "We searched for 4 things and everything looks normal. I can't see chlamydia so we tested that." So I went out feeling confident I was clean. Around 2 weeks later, I called them and they said my chlamydia was negative. I was at a relief. But Now in July, I have similar symptoms to gonorrhea. I haven't had vaginal sex in 9 months. I've had Oral sex recebtly and now I am very worried for my partner. How often are these tests wrong? Is it possible it was a false negative? When I went to get tested, it was 6 months since I have had any kind of sex. I have odorless discharge and I had brown discharge 7 days after my period which lasted 3 days. Please help me. I am stressing myself out and I just want some kind of lead on this. What can this be? Is it a possible yeast infection?

Well, I hope the doctor is right. Maybe by the way it looked it was obvious. So I hope it works.

I went to the doctor and when I was explaining my symptoms, she said everything was normal. I asked for an examination. She didn't swab, or anything. She just looked. Then she said I had a yeast infection. If I wouldn't of had an examination, I would've kept this yeast infection. It had no odor and no itchiness. I'm not sure if I trust this doctor. I guess we'll see in a week if these symptoms clear up if it really was just a yest infection.

Usually you only have one discharge a month. The brown discharge isn't normal but it doesn't mean it is an STD.  There are a lot of reasons for a brown discharge. I don't know for sure. It could be due to wrong dose of birth control, or some say an ovarian cyst also could just be high hormone level and you are shedding some of the endometrium. I don't know. I guess you should get these questions answered by the doctor to be sure. Since you have pelvic pain it might be a cyst. But you could have an infection. So, best to check. It wouldn't be the kind of infection you would transmit to your bf. It may be high up and not an STD.

The brown discharge was almost 2 weeks ago now. I'm about a week away from my period. So far I've noticed twice now that when I rinse my vagaina with cold water, I get out and I have what it seemed like pure white discharge. There was more than usual today. I wiped it away with white toilet paper and it had a yellow tint. Is this normal? It wasn't urine. My vulva is red. I'm not sure if it's swollen. It doesn't seem like it. And my discharge isn't entirely clear. Also, the white discharge didn't really seem clumpy. Is this normal for premenstrual discharge or is it not? Should I be worried that I have an STD? I have no idea what to think

The clear gooey discharge is normal. But brown isn't. So, I'm not sure what is going on either. It may be a passing thing.  If you look up on the women's health site on brown discharge you will see a lot of information on that.Or just search for brown discharge on the Medhelp site you will see a lot of information on that.

It's not terribly itchy. The itchyness only sometimes occurs at night. The discharge is odorless from what I can tell. On toilet paper, sometimes I can see a little bit of a yellow tint but that could also just be the urine. Usually I can't see it on toilet paper so it's either clear, or white. It's usually thin too. When I took a shower today, I rinsed it off with water and I found a white string-like discharge. I rinsed it with cold water so the discharge could've hardened a little, but in my hand, it was almost hard to tear apart. I'm going in to the doctors in a few days I hope. I have no idea what is going on with me. I hope it's nothing terribly bad. Thank you.

Yes sometimes you can't tell but usually it is a fishy odor. It is hard to tell with these things. Sometimes you just see discharge. Is it very itchy? If you had yeast it would be extremely itchy and a some burning sensation in the vaginal area. It doesn't sound like a urinary tract infection. It is best to get tested though. It could be pelvic inflammatory disease also or a cyst. So you need to get checked. It is hard to say if your partner has anything. They can had no symptoms yet still transmit something. So it is best to get tested if you have discomfort and  discharge that is not clear.

Thank you for your response. I have a few questions. Is it possible for BV to have an odorless discharge? I also have minor discomfort in my lower abdomen sometimes. I don't have any problems when I urinate.. no discomfort or pain. I've tried to keep that area dry. I've had Oral sex too recently. What problems could my partner have? Thank you again.

It is best to keep your posts together so I can help better. The tests for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea are very accurate. It is not likely you had a  false negative. You could have bacterial vaginosis. On your other post you said you had yeast. So, you have a brown discharge and itching? I think you should get tested for yeast and bacterial vaginosis. It is not an STD it is an imbalance of pH and that leads to a bacterial imbalance in the vagina. So they can test you for that. If you douche don't as it causes problems like this. Also, try not put soap up into the vagina as it also causes normal bacteria to become imbalanced. The vagina is self cleaning. So, The only other thing you could get tested for is Trichomonas. That and BV plus yeast could cause these types of symptoms. Once you get the correct diagnosis they can treat you properly. You can try the over the counter yeast treatment but if that is not the problem then it may be BV or Trich. I think it may be BV. So you may need antibiotics to get rid of it. It can come back sometimes too so be patient. It is best to see a good doctor if you can. If they can test you for vaginal pH, clue cells and see if those are normal that would help. But they have PCR tests too. For Trichomonas they have a PCR test that is better than the Wet mouth (slide test).
