Pinworms

I've had pinworms for 10 years constantly. I get them every 6 weeks and I take medicine, and they will go away but come back in another 6 weeks. I'm 15, almost 16 and they're seriously ruining my life. My mom bought me this stuff to try called UPADO 29 or something, and apparently it's supposed to get rid of all the pinworms, including the eggs, but I don't think its working. the medicine also says they will get irritated because it's trying to kill them and will wiggle a lot for awhile. Is there any way that a dr could clean out my colon or do something to help me :(

To get rid of the itching you need germolene cream it has an anesthitic in it but once you've tried it you will carry a tube with you it stings when applied for a few seconds then relief like you never knew this is available over the counter in England.

p.s. if that doesn't work your new doctor can prescribe a drug called Mebendazole. This requires a prescription.

I am not a doctor but I can advise you only. Maybe you should get another doctor. I think pinworm is easy to diagnose. It isn't good to take medicine if they don't diagnose it first. have they done the scotch tape method where they tell you all to take a pinwork paddle with scotch tape and place it on the anal area first thing in the morning? They should be easily seen by the laboratory. The treatment they gave you I never heard of. You can get over the counter or on line drug for pin worms called Pyrantel pamoate or pamoati. You have to take two doses because the first dose may not kill all the parasites. The whole family takes it, unless there is a child under 2 years old then you have to  have the doctors supervision as it can be dangerous for a child that young. The first dose is taken then the second dose is taken two weeks later to kill of anything that the first dose didn't kill.

I've told my Dr, but she doesn't seem to care. I also got tested multiple times and the tests came back negative, when my mom can clearly see the pin worms wiggling around. We've treated everyone in the house and it isn't working. I make sure to wash my hands a lot.

You need to see a doctor about this. They have specific anti parasitic meds for this and it has to be given on a certain schedule due to the parasites lifecycle. Also, you have to wash everything that gets in contact with the anal area in hot soapy water and also all towels sheets bedding, underwear, pants, dresses, skirts, pantyhose  etc. as the eggs get everywhere. Then when you take the second dose you have to wash everything again. Don't scratch the area ever even though it drives you crazy because it spreads it. Everyone in the house will have to get treated at the same time too or will just get spread around that way too. The parasite med will clean out the colon but not as a anema it will kill only the parasites. They will do a specific test first to make sure that is what you have.
