Pulmonary koch's infection

Hi Doc. my past x-ray PA result for the past 3 years (May 2006 ) was " pulmonary koch's infection, right upper lobe" and my doctor gave me anti-tuberculosis medications for 6 months. I finished my therapy for 6 months and starts gaining weight. And now May 2009, my x-ray result was " pulmonary koch's infection resolving, right upper lobe"... Why is it that the result was almost the same? what do  you mean by resolving? I already done my anti-tuberculosis treatment for the past 3 years. Now, i loss weight, i have only back pain,no cough, colds,my CBC is normal ( except Eosinophils value is 1.0), urinalysis normal. I am worried about my x-ray result because I am afraid if i cant go abroad.

Hi and sorry your sister was put on TB medicine. This is because the Xray shows she may have be exposed to TB but the sputum shows it isn't active yet so before it doesn't damage to the lungs they can treat it and the nodule in the lungs will go away. So that is preventive treatment to get rid of the exposure to it so it doesn't get worse later. Hope this helps explain.
She will be fine. But she needs to take the meds.

Hi!  Nagpa.xray po for employment requirements and impression was suspicious bilateral upper lobe densities. Nag.apicolordotic view din po ako and result is left apical lung densities,  Probably Koch's in etiology.  Anu po ba ibig sabihin nito?

If your sputum test was negative then you don't have active TB. Have you have a TB skin test? It would be good to get a quantiferon gold test for TB. Have you had the BCG vaccine? There may be a dormant nodule of some sort that is on the lung. But they usually want 3 TB cultures in a row that are negative to prove your are negative for TB. I don't see why they are holding this up.

hi sam, your problem was same as mine... when i was enrolling for college at 2007 and had my medical exams including Chest PA, there is something seen at my right upper lobe of my lungs.  i was suggested to apicolordotic xray position and had the same result, my sputum test is neagtive. i dont understand this situation too,coz i dont have any lung disease history..
last december 2014, my xray result was same as the previous xray during 2007 followed by last feb. 2015 for my application abroad, the impression was still same as the two previous exposures that makes my medical result pending... and now i have my last exposure, dated june 11, 2015
nothing changed at the result... this is really disturbing.. i dont know the real problem.. coz if i am a koch positive, from 2007-2015, i guess the impression would get worst without medication..

hello po. meron po kaming kasambahay na meron back pain. pinacheck up po namin and pina x-ray twice, then ang findings sa x-ray ay meron syang posible koch's infection. hindi po inuubo, walang lagnat at sipon na malala yung kasambahay namin since dumation sya. hindi rin po sya makapag produce ng plema para mapa sputum test kase wala po talagang plema. negative din po ang blood test nya para sa TB. ano po kaya magandang gawin or test para ma assure na clear sya. meron po kae syang inaalagaang 2yr old kid e. please advice po sana

Once the lesions heal they get calcified and noninfectious.Resolving means the process is on, despite bacterial negativity.
