RISK of HIV and HEPC

Hello!

This is a bit of a strange question but I wanted to find out if it's possible as my friend asked me but I wasn't able to answered it. If a new  hypodermic needle touches a surface (let's say the pavement, floor, piece of clothing, table..) and then pricks you, will it be possible for that needle to transmit hiv/hep c?

Thanks a lot for your help.

That is true for HIV. It is not likely to have blood on the floor in general. I wouldn't worry about it. But if you use a dirty needle and inject it into your blood stream you could possibly get a bacterial infection. But by now the person would be sick.

Ok thanks for your reply.
There was no visible blood, perhaps there could have been dry blood but if it's dry is unable to infect, isn't it?

No. Not unless there was blood on the floor. You only get it from body fluids and unprotected sex.
