Thanks for responding to my post. It makes sense that ampicillin, amoxicillin, or any others in the penicillin family could treat syphilis (being that penicillin is the recommended treatment). I only asked for the source of the info because I wanted to know if they were somehow less effective treatments than regular old penicillin. Thanks again!

Thanks for the list of these anti-biotic treatments. Would you mind sharing the source initial of this information?
Thanks again.
chances are the infection never really went away, if it was gonorreah or syphilis it probably relapsed... you should go get stronger anti-biotics
Amoxicillin 2 g plus probenecid 1 g orally
Ampicillin 2 to 3 g plus probenecid 1 g orally
Azithromycin 2 g orally
Cefixime or Suprax 400 mg orally
Cefotaxime 500 mg by intramuscular injection
Cefoxitin 2 g by intramuscular injection, plus probenecid 1 g orally
Cefpodoxime (Vantin) 400 mg orally
Ceftriaxone (Rocephin) 125 to 250 mg by intramuscular injection
Ciprofloxacin 500 mg orally
Levofloxacin 250 mg orally
Ofloxacin 400 mg orally
Spectinomycin 2 g by intramuscular injection
all these anti-biotics are used to treat chlamydia, gonnoreah, syphilis, and other bacterial infections best of luck and go to the doctor ASAP seeing as its probably a relapse
