infections?

Hello, sorry for some gross elements and stupidity, but i was wondering if urine possibly going into your butthole is bad?

about 3 hrs ago i peed in my home toilet, then i took a shower and i forgot to flush it.  i know, it's stupid.  even more stupid, about an hour ago i had to go #2 and i was distracted while walking in and just sat down with the urine still in the toilet.  i was slightly constipated so the first drop made a big splash and i felt it, and i'm paranoid that some of it might of went in the butthole.  anyways a few minutes after, i finished my business and i went into the shower and tried to wash the general area with soap and water.

thank you for reading!

So the bottom line is that you can relax and not worry. :-)

Urine is usually sterile. However, toilet water is commonly loaded with intestinal bacteria like E coli. Still, infections from events like you describe are exceedingly rare if they occur at all. Most of the bacteria would be pretty similar to the billions of E coli and others that normall inhabit your own colon anyway.

You should be fine...nothing to worry about.  Urine is considered "clean" unless you have an infection...and you would know if you had one.  So relax and keep on flushing that toilet when you go to the bathroom.
