infectious disease

I have post op fluid where a medical device had been removed, it was between my muscle wall and skin.  And my abdomen has been bloated and some pain around the incision and out aways . There hasn't been any leakage or excess reddness, or fever but I am feeling lousy like I'm trying to get a bug. Does this sound like an infection in the abdomen? What can happen if nothing is done about it?

Hi I would get it checked by your doctor because of the swelling and pain in the area near the removed medical device. And general ill feeling.  It is good you have no fever though. If you didn't have the swelling in the abdomen before and you got it after the procedure it is possible you do have an infection at the site where the device was. You don't want to get an infection so best to contact your provider.
