pseudomonas ear infection

My 15 year old son has had an ear infection for over a month. treated with Amox and bactrim with no help, it just kept getting worse. finally cultured the drainage, he has pseudomonas, and was getting the wrong treatment. Now on cipro orally and tobramycin ear drops, will this clear it up? He is really hurting, and I am worried this will never go away. Had anyone had this and will it clear up and go away?
