strange dips in skin

by becky187, Feb 16, 2009 09:37AM
I have two kids ages 6 & 7. They both developed very odd dips in their skin at the same time. The places look like chicken pox scares but they have never had chicken pox. They did not a have a virus or fever at the time they appeared. Their pediatrician did not know what they were but also said they looked like chicken pox scares. The dermatologist said they had never seen anything like it and recommended infectious disease doctors. My question is what could cause places on the torso, legs and arms that look like scars but is not. They are dipped into the skin and irregular in shape. There doesn't appear to be any skin color changes. They both have had it now for several months and it seemed to have improved but now it looks like they are back again.  Any thoughts??
