tongue white/rash on the sides

Hello,

Not too long ago i noticed small red bumps along the sides of my tongue with some cuts, they don't hurt though, but I'm really bothered and worried about it. What could they be? I have braces put on five months ago, but i don't think it has anything to do with that. I never really looked at my tongue until recently, so I don't know if this is normal or not. Could this a symptom of HIV?? Help!

no problem for the reply i like to help people, i would still say maybe a bacterial vaginosis or secondary gonnoreah... if you have been performing oral sex it is a lot more likely this is something related to a bacteria...eg. chlamydia, gonnoreah, siphilus ect. you should have a CBC done again and see a gynocologist for a pap smear you really want to be sure...as for the cold sore...probably herpes or maybe just due to chapped lips or cold chappy weather...and if the cold sore is herpes it is very easily transmitted it is however hard to transmit when there are no symptoms but it is a possibility so i would try to abstain until you have the answers you seek...if you have any questions feel free to message me or i will find this post on my watch list

I have been having unprotected sex for the last five months, well, not anymore after developing a cold sore on my lip..which I thought was an allergy cause it appeared right after having this food i didn't know had msg in it. But my doctor said that most likely i got it from someone else. I did a test for STDs and HIV three weeks after my first contact with the guy im seeing right now.. and it all turned out negative. Do you know if my tongue appearing weird has anything to do with having a cold sore? And does having a cold sore means you have it forever??? The cold sore disappeared now but Im worried Im gona give it to someone (even though it's not there anymore), even just by kissing them?? Btw, thanks for the reply:)

if you had anysort of virus you would know...probably not a symptom of HIV...why do you worry about that? it sounds to me like oral thrush or oral vaginosis, especially if you have come in contact with any fungus' or had a yeast infection in the last 4 months...however this CAN also be a sign of gonorreah or chlamydia...so you should probably have it looked at to ensure its not a secondary symptom of an infection
