what the heck is going on with me? new STD???

I had a brief encounter where I deeply kissed a woman, she performed felatio on me and I performed cunnilingus on her.  My penis touced her outer lips but there was no penetration.  Shortly thereafter, I started experiencing symptoms ie, burning when peeing, soreness of penis.  Went to doc in box and was given anti fungal for poss yeast on exterior of penis, and something else for penis pain.  The pain never went away.  I felt like a truck hit me for next month and have not felt right since.  Symptoms including lower back pain, now pain in my rectal/prostate area, tingling in extremeties, lightheadedness, pain in my groin above my penis but below my navel.  Weird skin conditions that I never had before, such as pimple like bumps and weird rashes.  I also have experienced night sweats at neck and groin.  Joint pain and muscle weakness.  Stiff neck and headaches as well.
I have had all sorts of std testing.  HSV1 was pos.  I had had lesions before on upper lip.  HSV2 were neg through 8 months.  I even had HIV tests at 2.4 and10 months, and an ORAL HPV DNA PCR test (2 times)  all neg.
I have tried to do research to find out what is going on and all the doctors want to treat me for is anxiety.  Im anxious because they have not tested me any further than the standard CBC, Thyroid, Celiac, Blood sugar tests.
Now I have pain in my chest and throat that is not psychosematic.  It wakes me up and hurts.  My head hurts when I try to do complicated tasks and I feel as if I am running on 2 cylinders.
I have asked the Internist to do some Mycoplasma screening tests as my symptoms (neurological and intestinal) can be attributed to it.  The symptoms appear to be exactly like Chronic Fatigue syndrome.  Im always worn out, no energy at all.
The woman I spent that brief encounter with told me she had had bowel probs for years, had a very rough pregnancy with her only child and could not conceive again.  That suggests possible PID with a Mycoplasma infection.  She only works weekends, as she suffers from fatigue as well. And I have heard the Mycoplasma infections are the up and coming STD that has surpassed gonorhea
PLEASE, any info or which way to test to see what the hell is going on here.  I WANT MY LIFE BACK!!

Hi Ewford I was looking at your XMVR statement and am wondering if I may have the same thing. Mine started from an encounter with a massage girl protected oral and vaginal but condom slid up half way revealing a broken skin patch that may have been entry point. I was thinking i had herpes but every test and every doctor seems to think not.
started 3 days after exposure with red eyes, irritated/red penis tip, tighness is scrotum excess urination with dribbling at end of stream, this was flowed by tingling all over groin area, burning urethra, sore/burning patches on scrotum, tingling pins/needles feeling or prickly feeling in testicles and between legs/taint area. also had flu-like symptoms low fever, chills, fatigue and random muscle soreness
had all the tests done nothing came back positive so far, its been 6.5 weeks things are starting to subside but still get random itching and soreness. Was diagnosed with atleast neuralgia but cause is still undetermined. All these symptoms progressed gradually week to week with one ending and another beginning, was taking acyclovir on and off during this episode and may have an effect on the symptoms but i guess that would only be the case if this is herpes.
Was wondering from what you found out so far do my symptoms coincide with XMVR, I couldn't find much information on the std effects most have only talked about FM and CFS. At 7 weeks I had another std panel and everything still is coming back neg. most symptoms these days are random itchiness in groin and pain on torso between ball and anal region.

thanks

i tested pos for Lymes, bartonella, babesia which has a Mycoplasma Fermentens Incognitus strain and Mycoplasma Genitalia.  Soldiers have exact same symptoms.

Hi,

I started to have some of the same symptoms after an unsafe sex incident. My symptoms started with penile irritation and pain, then deep prickly groin pain, and trouble with urination. It then progressed with diarrhea, constipation, anal pain, cognitive difficulties. Later on I developed aching eyes (an autoimmune symptom) allergy-like symptoms, extreme fatigue, further cognitive decline, continued penile pain, and neuropathy (odd combination of pain/numbness) throughout my body. I was finally tested and diagnosed with a new STD called XMRV (the growing concensus is that it is transmitted in much that same way as HIV). XMRV is classified as a "gamma" retrovirus (not sure what that means). The M in XMRV stands for murine (latin for mouse) because it is so similar to a gamma retrovirus in mice, which has been found to concentrate in the mouse sex organs. Similarly, XMRV was first discovered in 2006 in the sex organs (prostates) of men. In October 2009, the Whittemore Peterson Institute did a study that linked XMRV with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. It found the 3.7% of the general population were carrying XMRV but were not presenting symptoms. 67% of the people diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue were XMRV positive. The latest concensus, is that XMRV is a bloodborne pathogen that is spread similarly to HIV. Last year, my family doctor ordered labs for me and I tested positive for XMRV. I have not found any treatments that help, although, there are some people who are taking antiretroviral drugs and are reporting some improvement. Because so many people appear to be infected (3.7% of the general population in the WPI study would translate to about 10 million Americans), there should be financial incentives and political pressure to develop treatments. Although this doesn't seem to be happening in a big way yet, there are people working on it. The Whittemore Peterson Institute, for one, is going to start clinical studies later this year. While I haven't found anything to significantly alleviate my symptoms, I am continuing to search and I still have many stones left unturned. It's also possible that I may have other unknown infections that are causing problems in addition to my XMRV. Pubmed.gov has a lot of information on XMRV, though much of it is conflicting. You could also look up the Whittemore Peterson Institute, which did the initial XMRV/CFS study. We are just in the beginning stages of understanding and developing treatments for this virus. There will probably new medications coming that offer relief, we just don't know how long it will take.

- John
