waking up but cant move my body, eyes open, body will not move

okay so for about the past 5 years  as soon as i fall asleep i have a sudden urge(like panic stricken that something bad is happening like someone in house, house on fire, blah blah blah)to jump out of bed. But when i go to do this i open my eyes only to relize i can not move, i know i am awake because others see this happen, they talk to me while it happens, i can not hear them but i can see there lips moving. Fanilly i have to sat my fear aside and calm down and stop trying to move and useally in 5 or 10 secs i can move. It is really scary. i do not take any sleeping meds. Does anyone else suffer with this or ever heard of it>?

You do not have insomnia and this is an insomnia forum. Therefore, you need to be evaluated at a sleep center.
