All is normal...what could be wrong???

Hi I'm 33 and my dh is 37, we have been trying for 8 months now to conceive and were hitting all the right days for conception...we had a sperm count done and that was normal, my menstral cycle has always been normal and very accuratly on time with a lasting of 4 to 5 days and I feel ovulation pains around cd 14 and 15, my thyroid is fine, my hormones are good...so what could be wrong?  If i had fertility issues wouldn't i have odd cycles or other symptoms??? Anyone have any info?

One test that can be done to make sure the uterus is shaped normally and that the fallopian tubes are open is called a hysterosalpinogram (HSG).  They insert a catheter into the uterus and inject dye into the tube.  This is done in radiology.  This is an important test to do in the infertility work up.

Thank you for the information.  One question though, if the tubes would be blocked wouldn't i have irregular menstrations or painful menstrations or something that would indicate the blockage?

No, there may be no symptoms at all because bleeding from the period comes out of the uterus and has nothing to do with the fallopian tubes. Also you should have a transvaginal ultrasound to make sure that your uterus looks normal, as well as your ovaries.

Thank you very much for all your help.  I have an appt. with my doctor on Tuesday and if these tests are not mentioned maybe i will mention them to her and take it from there.  I really appreciate all your help.  Thanks again.
