Antiphosolipid syndrome

I have recently been diagnosed with the above.  The doctors are telling me that it is safe to have another baby, but I would have to take aspirin and give myself a shot of heparin every 12 hours.  I will have to have a c-section because I have had two c-sections already.  My biggest concern is obviously the heparin.  I need to know more about how many people survive this.  I want another baby.  I need to know how safe this is.  All I hear is, if the doctors do what they are supposed to do everything should be fine, but that is not good enough for me.  I have two children and a husband to think of.  To sum it all up I am terrified to make this choice without finding out everything I can before I make this decision.  I have had 4 miscarriages 3 have been in the last year and half.  Can you please help?

Haparin is not without possible side effects and complications and so you have to decide to weigh the risks and benefits.
If you are not willing to incur any risk in taking Heparin then I would not suggest taking it because there is always some small risk in taking any drug.
Heparin can cause maternal bleeding or hemorrhage and so you will have to be monitored. There is some association with Heparin use and poor obstetrical outcome like prematurity and stillbirth but many women using heparin already are high risk pregnancies and so one cannot be sure that it was due to the heparin use.
Heparin can induce osteoporosis which is thinning of the bone but it can be prevented by taking Calcium supplements with Vitamin D.
There is potential side effects or adverse effects like allergic reaction, asthma, bruising, skin reactions,  lowvering platelet counts and very rarely anaphylactic shock.
