Blood tests

Are LSH and FSH blood tests accurate in determining the end of menopause?  Can other meds that the patient is tasking impact on the accuracy?  Thanks.

Yes, FSH and LH can verify the end of perimenopause and the beginning of menopause ie no longer functioning ovaries.  You would have no periods and the FSH and LH would be greater than 20.  Some drugs can interfere with the results like hormones.  If you are young and the levels are high then it is considered premature ovarian failure.  The average age of menopause ie the cessation of period is around age 51 in the U.S.
