Preganancy and polysystic overries

Hi,

It has been 8 weeks and four days since my last menstrual cycle, however on having an early scan because i had experienced some spotting, the scan showed i was maybe only five weeks pregnant, the embryo was to small to see.  After two weeks which was today i was re scaned, the gestational sac was 19mm, with a CRL of 3.5 mm but no heart beat could be detected.  Is this normal?  Could i just be earlier on than they think?  My cycle is usually around every 37 days.  I am a little worried as i had a mis carriage in January and really want this pregnancy to be sucessful.

Yes, it could be because your cycles are irregular that you may not be as far along as the last menstrual period dating. Follow up ultrasounds will determine if things are going well.
