Skin was passed out of my vagina during my cycle.

Skin was passed out of my vagina during my cycle.

Hello,
I am 27 years old and have had heavy but regular periods since my cycle began at the age of 11.  Over the last 4 months I have had weird symptoms such as dizziness, fatigue, intermittent nausea, and a milk like substance leaking from my breasts. I went to my doctor and many tests were done (including a pregnancy test and hormonal level tests) which were all negative.  about 2 months after receiving my negative tests from the doctor I started a new birth control...Nuvaring.  I kept the ring in for 1 month and my symptoms subsided but when my period came my bleeding was light and I had the worst cramps I have ever had in my life.  I passed what I at first thought was a blood clott, but when i looked closer I realized it was not bloody. It was a moderate sized piece of skin about the size of a computer mouse and shaped like a pear.  I know I was not pregnant, but I do plan on trying to get pregnant soon and this scared me.  Is it normal to pass this large amount of tissue? and will it affect my fertility?
   Any suggestions appreciated.  Thanx.

I hope you had a prolactin level for the breast milk discharge.
You may have passed something called a decidual cast which could result from the hormones of the Nuvaring. If you have no further tissue then you should be fine. Please see your doctor for any further problems.

Thank you so much for your advice.  My prolactin levels were wnl. I'd never thought the assume a decidual cast because I always related it to pregnancy (or ectopic pregnancy).  Thanks so much...now it all makes sense.
