UTI from Laproscopy surgery

by rghkah38, Jan 27, 2009 09:58AM
I had lap. on Dec.22nd and a few days after my surgery I started having pain.  I finally went to the dr. after my pain got worst. She diagnosed me with having a UTI.  She prescibed penacillian 4 x a day for a week. A few days finishing up my medicince I started to get pain again and now it's worst.  It's kind of feels like very bad heartburn around my bladder area. Also, wheb I have to have a bowel movement it gets a lot worst.  It feels like really bad cramping. It's not a constant pain, it just comes and goes.  She did take out both of my tubes during surgery, can their be something else wrong or do I still have a UTI.  Bloods came out good before the first diagnosies

It could still be a bladder infection but the antibiotics is not covering the organism. I usually check a urine culture and sensitivity because many bacteria that cause bladder infection are resistant to penicillin.
I suggest that you see your doctor who did the surgery again to check you out again to make sure that you do not have something else going on too.
