ultrasound

i am a 23 year old unmarried girl with  normal blood flow for five days but irregular cycles right from puberty.

Since 2 years i have scanty periods lasting only one and a half day
i want to do an ultrasound scan. which day of the menstrual cycle is good to do ultrasound to rule out any abnormalties ?(all my hormone levels in blood testtaken on day 3 are within the ranges specified)

I think an early follicular phase ultrasound would be fine which would be anywhere from cycle days 1 through 10.  They can check for something called polycystic ovarian syndrome, where you have small multiple follicles on ultrasound in a distinctive pattern, and irregular cycles and increased hair growth on your face or body called hirsutism.
