Cyst

For 2 months now I have been having extreme pain in my testis and under my sack and under my right leg. The pain seems to stay in that area. I had an ultra sound done to check for anything. They found a small cyst on my right ball, "nothing to worry about" (says the Dr.). I never could feel the cyst myself, so I figured no big deal. Well early this morning I was checking myself and actually felt a small growth the size of a pea on my right testi. I am so scared this is a symptom of cancer. According to webMD "Small growth on the testi could be serious sign of cancer". I am just so scared that this is more than just a "inflamed spermatocele l cord" (which is what I was said I had, and gave me anabiotics). If there is a Doctor out there that can give me some peace of mind with this or suggest something that would be great. Thank you.

There are many things in the scrotum that can cause pain.  A cancerous mass in the testicle rarely causes pain and is almost always picked up by the ultrasound you had.  The most common cause of pain in scrotum is epididymitis, The epididymis is the first part of the tubes that take sperm away from the testicle to the prostate.  It is diagnosed on physical exam and treated with antibiotics and antiinflammatory drugs. Other causes of scrotal pain include an epididymal cyst or spermatocele, a round bubble usually on the top of the epididymis filled with fluid.  Also a tunica albuginia cyst, which is a cyst in the thick covering of the testicle can cause pain. Also a dilated set of veins in the scrotum called a varicocele can cause pain. You need to be seen by a Urologist who is trained in scrotal problems and can differentiate these possible causes of pain in the scrotum and provide specific treatment.
