Hi,  The question is what is the cause of the burning.  An infection in the urine is a common cause of burning and is usually treated easily with antibiotics.  An infection specifically in the urethra can cause burning (urethritis) and require a different type of antibiotic.  If it's not an infection or antibiotics are unsucessful it could be a structural problem like a inflammation from a previous catheter in the bladder, a bladder tumor or a urethral diverticulum.  She needs to see a Urologist who can do a urine check, physical exam and maybe a cystoscopy to look into the bladder to sort out the cause of the dysuria.  Getting the correct diagnosis is key to getting appropriate treatment.  Good Luck
