I am not a doctor but an IC patient and director of MOARK IC, a support network for MO and ARK, in the US.
It is very likely to be IC or it could even be chronic cystitis since the symptoms are very similar. However with chronic cystitis the antibiotics should improve your symptoms not make them worse. It is possible that a yeast infection is the cause of the increase in
pain too. I would ask your doctor for a script to try of Diflucan, since often for those of us with IC the over the counter meds. can cause us to flare!
The Elmiron website has a questionnaire that can tell you if it is likely you have IC or not.
I would also highly encourage you to get a pelvic pain PT evaluation too. They are trained to see beyond the standard tests. Mine was amazing and we as women often have PFD along with IC too.
We are also starting a new patient support forum for IC and Pelvic Pain I would encourage and invite you to join us there too!
