NEED HELP

I really need answers. I have pain in the pelvic area for about 8 weeks went to family doctor and GYN. GYN said it wasnt a problem for him because my urine came back clear- my family doc said there was a trace of blood in the urine. Went to an uroligist and he looked into my bladder and said everything is fine and put me on an anti-biotic for a month. The pain is getting worse and I dont know what to do or where to go. I really need advice. Sherry

It is very likely to be IC or it could even be chronic cystitis since the symptoms are very similar. However with chronic cystitis the antibiotics should improve your symptoms not make them worse. It is possible that a yeast infection is the cause of the increase in
pain too. I would ask your doctor for a script to try of Diflucan, since often for those of us with IC the over the counter meds. can cause us to flare!
The Elmiron website has a questionnaire that can tell you if it is likely you have IC or not.
I would also highly encourage you to get a pelvic pain PT evaluation too. They are trained to see beyond the standard tests. Mine was amazing and we as women often have PFD along with IC too.
