I hope they gave you the food guide.... I know how over whelming this is. I was asking my dr for the last year if i was allergic to my hubby he kept passing it off and after enough uti's he finally sent me to a uro... try to cut out as much caffeine as you can and red sauces anything spicy will talk back cut out foods with acid can't have a lot of fruits but I have found new ways to eat blueberry's good luck we can keep each other posted. I do have treatments set up I can't do the Caruso but there was another 1 that my ins will pay for it's dark brown and I've had 2 and saw some ease with the pain. I think my ob did it to me during my hysterectomy there's not alot known about this yet, I have a friend that has had it for 10 years and the stuff is not working on her, but it has me and they are finding out more about this....good luck
For me Elmiron has been a life saver.I have not lost any hair. I do not wake up at least four times in the middle of the night, the pelvic pain is better (I also have endo so sometimes hard to distinguish what is causing the pain.) Plus I do not have to go to the bathroom very hour. Did your doctor tell you that you need yearly blood tests to check liver levels?
I also stay away from foods like fruit juice, pears (yes I know they say you can have pears but my body did not read this). I believe that IC is autoimmune related so you might want to try a gluten free diet (I believe this one thing that keeps it in check, outside of the Elmiron) and make sure you are getting enough vit d.
I hope this helps,
