Could also have been a false positive, it does happen. There are other tests available. How did you make out?

Thank you for the response. The patient in question had a serum PSA 75 ng/ml on day 1 and 35 ng/ml. on day 3 done by the same lab. For this portion I need your help as to how to explain it.

Sudden steep rise in PSA levels could be due to a number of reasons such as infections, inflammations, growths, malignancies etc. It would be best to have this evaluated by a urologist to differentiate between the causes and for appropriate management.
