Suspected water infections that arnt there.

So for the last yr and a half i keep on a regular basis contracting water infections, or this is the term my doctors unbrella them under, the thing is everytime they test my urine there is no sign of an infection.
My symptoms are that i will ind it uncomfortable peeing, not burning but the will be a horrible weird pain come the end of my pee and i will be uncomfortable for ages after, unable to sit down or stand up without feeling uncomfy or needing the toilet again.
I do everything i am told cram-berry juice, lots to drink see the doctor and i keep getting given the same old stuff which is a clymidia test and a pack of antibiotics for a water infection that isnt there. and within a few days i start to feel better and the test comes back negative and then a month later its back. And im just getting really sick of it. It ruins my entire day coz i can be so uncomfortable i feel like i cant control my bladder. I was just wondering is this just me? has anybody had something like this before?

Hi there!

If an infection has never actually been demonstrated with positive tests, interstitial cystitis may be a diagnosis worth considering. Other possibilities that may need to be considered include endometriosis, neuro-muscular issues, erosions, ulcers, growths etc. I would suggest consulting a gynaecologist/ urologist for a detailed evaluation and appropriate management.
Hope this is helpful.

Take care!
