The Never Ending Agony

Dear Doctor,

Thank you for your time. I am greatly appreciative for your help, even if you can't help me, per se. I say that, with much dread, because from personal experience and research (mostly on the internet, of course) I could find no comfort or cure.

Five weeks ago I had brief unprotected sex (I condom was used after a minute - I came to my senses too late, perhaps. There was also oral sex, which, of course, might be to blame as well). Since then, I have had a burning/tingling sensation on the head of my penis, more specifically the tip , at the borders and inside the urethra.

I've been to two doctors, one being a urologist. I've had three urine tests and have been given medication for chlamydia and gonnorhea (Gonorrhea). Nothing to be identified, nothing curing my problem. The urologist is extremely confused and at a loss.

This situation is made more difficult by the fact that I'm living in Korea; But, I should say, my doctor speaks good English and has been very kind and patient.

I show no physical symptoms - no rashes, bruising, bumps or tears. But the intensity and consistency of the irritation is causing me worry and a lot of emotional and mental pain.

I have read some cases of men in the same boat, all at a loss, all suffering. I cannot focus. It's all rather unfortunate and entirely depressing.

Could you please be of any help? Have you heard of this before? Thank you, once more, for your valuable time. I am desperate. Please, your opinion.

I am wondering if any of you have ever taken a Fluoroquinolone / Quinolone Antibiotic before for a UTI (bladder infection) or for any reason??? Drugs such as Ciprofloxacin (Cipro), Avelox, Levaquin, Factive, Norfloxacin, Moxifloxacin, etc.  (google other brand names)
They would be the cause.  Please let me know.
