You need a serious second opinion. I was diagnosed at the age of 16 and had problems since I was 15 (when I became sexually active).. Since then I have had multiple procedures and treatments. If you have any questions please feel free to ask but that is not true and it needs to be taken seriously!.. It is painful and not fun to deal with especially when it gets worse!
Hello Irene,
I am a 26 year old female and begun having my IC symptoms at age 21 as well. The problem is doctors do not know enough about the disease and often don't believe its real. I wish your daughter the best of luck!
That is not true. They are finding that IC is actually found in children even very young children but is often left undiagnosed or misdiagnosed since doctors do not think to look for it in kids. I have just finished a book for kids with IC that I am in the process of publishing! This has been a 2+ year project but there is nothing out there for kids with IC.
YOu might check out the ICA or IC Network to learn more about IC in those that are young!
