kidney stone

can a 8mm kindey stone pass once in the utria

Hi there!

The diameter of the ureter (tube that connects the kidney to the bladder) is 3-4mm and hence a 7mm stone is unlikely to pass in urine. It may however dissolve and reduce in size when it can be passed in the urine; hence without definite symptoms, surgical/ interventional management may not be indicated based on size alone.
Hope this information helps.

Take care!
