Angina and right side heart failure.

Angina and right side heart failure.

My Dad is 69 year old man. He had triple by surgery 9 years ago. Daddy has a lot of health problems. He has kidney cancer, COPD where he is on ogygen 24/7, he has right side heart failure. Yesterday we were told they think the left side of his heart is messing up. They think it is agina. The doctor said daddy is too high risk to attempt any surgery. Can a patient over come this angina and live a long time. He is having a stress test and scan of his heart next week. I just wonder if he will get better. The doctor told us there was nothing you can do for heart faiure. How serious can this be.

It's possible to treat angina with medications and/or stents to open blockages but it sounds to me like his COPD is the most life-threatening illness and if his kidney cancer is metastatic then that is. I would not say that treating his angina would make him live a long time because he is already limited by these other co-morbidities.Does that make sense?Good luck and sorry to hear he is so ill
