Atrial Fibrillation

Atrial Fibrillation

I am being treated for A-fib, about seven yrs now.  At times I go into A-fib for one reason or another - maybe 3 times a year and I take my extra Tiazac and rest and within 12 to 18 hrs the heart rate goes back to normal - I am concerned about my heart arteries being clogged since I have a problem with my leg arteries.
I never experience chest pain when in A-Fib, and consequently my cardiologist said that to go thru that stress as A-Fib and no chest pain is an indication of heart arteries not being clogged.  Could that be so???  Please advise.   Thank you.

I would suggest that if you have disease in the arteries of your legs you are very likely to have it in the arteries around your heart. Atrial fibrillation can be precipitated by blockages and I would definitely get a thorough evaluation for underlying heart disease.
