Atrial Fluttering

Dr. Darcy Conaway:  Had a physical check-up about 4 months ago.  Had an ekg done and was told that I have atrial fluttering.  I am a 74 year old female in generally good health.  Take medical for high blood pressure which is controlled.  Have some palpitations and thats when my doctor took the ekg test.  He did not seem to be too concerned about this, but I am wondering if I have to worry about this in two-three years down the road.  May turn out to be atrial fib??

Thank you Dr Bogart for that quick response.  I am due for check up on Aug 14th and I will have my primary care doctor look into the matter for me.  Again, I thank you for your help.

If you have atrial flutter you should be evaluated by a cardiologist and likely need to be on warfarin.  Get this evaluated!!
