Cardiomegaly

I have a resting pulse of 116. My blood pressure is 150/104 and have been on several blood pressure meds. I am now on lisinopril, vytorin, dyazide, and verapamil. I had a borderline abnormal EKG and a chest xray showed cardiomegaly. I am having a Cardiac Stress Test next week. Is this dangerous since my pulse is already so very high?  Are there any other tests I should have? Thank you.

The cause of the tachycardia should be evaluated with an echocardiogram as well as the stress test.  Maybe a beta-blocker would help you instead of verapamil--ask your doctor.
