Constant belching with history of Hypertension

I am a 32 year old female. I have had hypertension for approx. 11 years. I also have what my doctor calls promonant PVC's, I feel them quite a bit. He also believes I have IBS from earlier stomach problems. My doctor has recently changed my medication to Coreg CR. My question is this: A week ago I started having constant belching. I went to see the doctor and he put me on Protonix and that was also when he changed my blood pressure meds. This was two days ago. Last night I was driving home when I got a sudden sharp pain in my left upper back. It was bad enough to send me to the hospital. They ran tests on my blood and urine. All came back normal. No gallbladder problem showed up or kidney stones. I am still belching (Day 6), but the pain in my back subsided after about 2 hours and has not come back. Are the two related and do you believe the belching could be related to the IBS or to my heart? Would the blood work they did at the ER have showed anything if it were my heart? (I also suffer from anxiety and panic attacks, which I have had two in the last week whereas before this week I had not had one in about 2 years).

Thank you for any information you may be able to provide.

It sounds like your symptoms are from your GI tract and you might have aerophagia--swallowing air.  You might need to have an upper GI endoscopy.

To elaborate a little on this. I have never experienced indigestion before this. I am 5 ft. 4, 148 lbs. My usual weight was always around 135 to 140, however I had a baby (my fourth) 9 months ago and have not lost all the weight yet. I am a smoker, a pack or pack 1/2 a day. When the belching began I had mild pain in my upper abdomen, right in the middle under the breast bone - that has subsided. Now my only symptoms are the belching and anxiety.
