Grade II/VI bilateral carotid bruits

What does this mean when doctor says this.  My sister was told this on a little employee physical and the doctor seemed very concerned and told her he wants her to get a Carotid Doppler.  He also said he heard a lot of mitral regurgitation.  She has not follow up and thinks that it is not serious but I believe she is worry.  What does it mean?

I've never heard of "grade ii/vi carotid bruits" ...usually grades refer to a heart murmur so i think you describing the heart murmur with the grade and also the presence of bruits in the carotid arteries. She needs to have a complete evaluation and follow-up as recommended by the physician.
