HELP!

I had a stent put in last year; every since I have been experiencing chest pains. I complained to my doctor for about a month, and finally he decided to run some additional tests.  It was discovered that I had arrythmia, and in Oct. I had a EP study; during the test they could not enduce the arrythmia and therefore no ablations were done.  I was prescribed medication for the arrythmia; however, it made my situation worse so I stopped the meds.

My doctor always saids diet and exercise; and I was afraid to exercise due to the chest pains.  So I began cardiac rehabilitation.  The other day, my heart arrythmia returned and was taken off the equipment and told to rest.

I'm basically discouraged.  I don't feel the origin of my problem has been found.  I feel the medication and procedures are treating the symptoms and not the cause.

I had a brother who dropped dead at the age of 51 due to heart disease (he was never diagnosed/autopsy revealed); then 8 months later it was discovered I had 90% blockage and was stented (even before the procedure, I had complained to my family doctor of chest pains, but was ignored).

I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO - PLEASE HELP!

I agree that you should seek another opinion and get some fresh ideas on your symptoms and someone else to review your prior data.

I agree!
You do need to see a good cardiologist. And don;t be afraid to go to  the ER. You have to advocate for yourself. You can ask for a copy of your medical record. Then discuss it with your family dr. You definitely  need more care.
