Nuclear Stress Test

Nuclear Stress Test

I am a 47 year old women. I had a nuclear stress test done today. When the nurse injected the meds in my arm I started to feel a burning sensation and felt like a ton of bricks on my chest and back. I had pain go in my neck and down my arm. I was clearly not feeling great. I was complaining to the nurse. They told me to just hold on a few more minutes. I was clearly hurting. Is this a normal procedure with this test? Do patients feel like that? Can you please answer, I am looking for some releif..

If you received adenosine (which is a common agent used to stress the heart) that is very common. Adenosine makes many people feel sick, nauseated, and if it was adenosine these symptoms are nonspecific; meaning that they are commonly due to the medication and do not necessarily correlate with heart disease.
