Plaque shift

Plaque shift

Recently I had a stent put into a branch and it was close to the main artery and the Dr said the plaque shifted.  He ballooned the main artery and I felt fine.  After a few days of being fine I had a sudden onset of chest pressure and jaw pain and it was relieved with 2 nitroglycerin.  I've noticed chest pressure since then sometimes with jaw pain, sometimes without and burning at times under my sternum.  It is almost like indigestion but not relieved by antacids or prescription medi ations (protonix).  It comes with and without exertion.  The Dr feels another angiogram is needed in the event of a recoil.  What is that and is it common?

I agree with your doctor and you likely need another stent or a bypass if they can't get the main artery open well.

I am on my second DES in my LAD-first a cypher stent that had a proximal occlusion at the leading edge of the stent after two years,8 months on Plavix and con't on asa-325.I now have a taxsus stent that after 6 months was 40% occluded distally, which is now 6 months ago-I have had frequent indigestion type discomfort unrelieved by Nexium twice a day, even had a special study to measure my esophageal ph to r/o GERD-which was negative- the pain most of the time is relieved by ntg and rest-it will come at rest and exertion, I woke up the other night with a nightmare and had the burning under my sternum, took a ntg and ended up sleeping in the chair. As bad as all that sounds it is still hard to believe it is still heart pain. i am on plavix, asa, lasix, imdur, lisinopril, kcl and zocor. I wish I really knew, I don't want to be a cardiac neurotic.
Thanks, Franners
