Pulmonary HTN

by rom109, Nov 03, 2007 03:21PM
Back in 2004 I had an echo done because I was having panic attacks with chest pain so my Dr was ruling things out. The findings were mild tricuspid regurgitation and mild tricuspid regurgitation with a peak right ventricular systolic pressure of 29mmHg. So she dx me with mild pulmonary HTN. Well I've always disputed it with her because I have always heard that pul. HTN was hard to dx. She said that my R sys pressure should be 15mmHg. But I thought there was a range. So I had another echo done at a healthfair and there were no findings but she wont accept that. So I wanted to know what your opinion is. She wants me to have another echo but I have no insurance and cant get any because of that dx. So it will cost me. Please let me know what you think and I appreciate it.

There is a range of pulmonary artery pressures and based on one echo with a pressure of 29, I would doubt the diagnosis. You clearly should get a second opinion.
