good day to all!... my mother is 70yrs old..she undergo x-ray because of hard cough.the result and conclusion of the doctor is...
1.hyperaerated lungs
2. moderate cardiomegaly,left ventricular form
3. dextroscoliosis of the thoracic vertebrae...

whats this means all about??please help me understand this... thank you so much

the findings is that there is a hyperaeration of both lungs,both hemidiaphragms are depressed.the heart is moderately enlarged with cardiothoracic index of 54%.there is inferolateral displacement ofthe cardiac apex.both costophrenic sulci are intact.there is rightward deviation of the thoracic vertebrae... please help me understand all this...how's my mother condition... she can talk and walk very well.still active..but i dont understand...

The hyperinflated lungs may be due to chronic lung disease eg, emphysema.  The scolosis means the spine has curvature to it and the cardiothoracic index means that the heart is slightly enlarged.
