hcm and brain function

Questions i understand patients of hcm suffer from high anxiety level.  Is this true? Does hcm
cause depression? Dr. im so confused. Been with a man who was dx with hcm 4 years ago he is now 38.he is on klonipion for anxiety.  norvicol for bp and a water pill to stabalize his  bp, however i was told water pills make u pee excessively, that does not happen to him. i think i understanfd the actual disease my question to u.  Does this disease  have any affect on the brain function. i understand medication does but actual brain function the mood swings and uncertainess is destroying my relationship.

While I do not know of any direct relationship between hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and central nervous system function--heart disease of any type can cause stress and alter your affect--frequently depression can result.  Sometimes the medications can have an adverse effect as well.  I would strongly suggest you discuss this with the doctor and potentially see a psychiatrist.
