should i have the catheter ablation

should i have the catheter ablation

hi im a 20 year old male and have recently been told i have wpw. i dont have any syptoms (symptoms) but have been told i need the catheter ablation, i realy dont want this proceedure as the wpw does not affect me, i have tried to talk to my consultant an explain that i dont want the ablation unless i start to have syptoms (symptoms) but he does not seem to care what i want. Should i have the ablation that is booked in for next week or wait until i feel ready for it. Im not saying i will never have it Im just saying not yet. Please help im realy unsure what to do. thanks.

There is evidence that in patients with WPW that an ablation is an indicated procedure even without symptoms as the arrhythmias you might have with WPW could be potentially life threatening.
