I AM TAKING WARFARIN FOR BLOOD CLODS & MY OTHER DOCTOR SAID COUMADIN IS BETTER THAN THE GENERIC WARFARIN.  HE ALSO SAID THAT THIS IS THE ONLY DRUG THAT HE RECOMMENDS TAKING COUMADIN.  PLEASE TELL ME WHAT THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TWO DRUGS ARE.  I REALIZE THAT THAT ARE ALOT OF GENERICS THAT ARE THE SAME THING. THANKS. . . . .

In general the absorption and consistency of anticoagulation is better with Coumadin than warfarin and the Coumadin give a more predictable response and more stable anticoagulation.
