Blood and Mucous in stools

Recently I get blood and mucous in my stools from time to time. Also, when gas is passed, sometimes blood and mucous (a little amoun) is passed. I don't have fever, weight loss, abdominal pain and such symptoms usually associated with ulcerative colitis.
Three days ago, I had a colonscopy examination, and my doctor said thereis  a  small part of ulcers in my colon, closer to the rectum. The detailed analysis of the examination is not yet available, but the doctor assured me the condition is benign. Yet I feel worried. Please could you give me your opinion on my condition?

I had similar symptoms for several years and later had severe pain associated.  I didn't lose weight, but did gain weight. I was diagnosed with Diverticulitus (sp).  Ask you doctor if this possible!  Don't let it get out of control!!

Hi I have the very same symtoms (symptoms)? and was diagnosed with diverticulitus, how are you now? I have been thinking if I was really sick I would lose weight instead am gaining, wt im confused kim
