I have suffered from intermittent side pain since a kid, now I am in my 40's. It seems after I eat maybe two hours, I get severe cramping on my left side, always my left side. The pain is so intense, I sit on the toilet hoping a bowel movement will release the pain. I get the cramping, then I feel and hear gurgling from the pain area, once I hear the gurgling, I will have more cramping until everything comes out, usually a solid bowel movement, followed by nothing but liquid. I will have three waves of this until I am completely cleared out. After these bouts, I am literally exhausted and usually have sweated up so much during these bouts, I go to bed and literally pass out. The bouts hit me whenever but usually at night. As a kid, doctors would just say IBS and give me a presciption. Another doctor said my symptoms don't fit the normal IBS pattern, but test results came up inconclusive. I can almost predict when I will have a bout. I start to get the side pain and now I will be home the rest of the night. The pain is always in the same area, and I go through the cramping in waves of three. It seems three waves of cramping clears me out and then the cramping stops. This has hindered my life.
