Endoscopy vs Hydrogen Breath Test

So, long story short; I went to a gastroenterologist and desired a hydrogen breath test with hopes to find SIBO as the cause of my long-standing digestive issues. My doctor thinks that my problem is not related to SIBO and instead wants to perform an endoscopy and colonscopy simultaneously. The problem is when I told my mother about my doctor's decision she thinks that he is trying to make more money by performing the more costly procedure. I don't know if I should just go through with the doctor's orders to look at my entire gastrointestinal tract or stick with my original plan for the breath test. Opinions?
