IBS Relief

I have recently been diagnosed with IBS. I tried different medicine prescribed by the doctors. Nothing worked. My stomach would cramp sometime, but my primary symptom is frequent urination, gas & bowel movement during the night and frequent heartburn. Does anyone else have the same issues?

I have not. Is it OTC? Do I need to talk to my doctor about that?

No it is not OTC.  I would recommend you talk to your doctor about trying this med or another med that can help IBS.

Look into iodine deficiency.  Google Terry Naturally.  Many of us actually have undiagnosed sluggish thyroid.  Mostly due to iodine deficiency.  He has a page that will give the most important information needed for this.  I am certain this is my reason for still having the issues with the IBS after treating it well for many years.  It's better, but still stubborn.

Be sure to look into food sensitivities.  You should look up tyramine intolerance.  When you get to the search results, look for the address that has WHfoods in it.  You may have to Google tyramine intolerance and migraines.  Don't worry, you will get the correct information.  Tyramine intolerance is linked to migraines AND it's linked to IBS.  Gluten intolerance is a part of tyramine intolerance.  I just posted information that is a little more in depth here...

Even if it sounds strange that so many things are linked together, it is important to remember that we were made into very complex beings, so everything really is linked together.  Try to look for integrative medicine whenever you can when you have to see a conventional doctor, because natural medicine is key for helping things like IBS even more than conventional medicine.  One kind of medicine is not necessarily better than the other in all things, and the thing is both have their place.  This is why integrative medicine is a helpful meld of the two.

I think they performed some sort of thyroid test on me. I have seen too many doctors and taken too many tests, it is hard to keep track :) but I will follow up on your advice.

Keep in mind that if the TSH is normal when they test your thyroid, that's probably all they're going to test.  That is the protocol in conventional medicine.

If the test comes back normal and you're still having these IBS symptoms and sluggish thyroid symptoms, welcome to the club.  And, if so, you will be able to proceed and follow Dr. Terry Lemerond's advice about iodine without any fear.  I still need to do it myself.  I need to go back and find that information he had that said how much to take and it's the amount he himself takes, because, well, he himself belongs to this thyroid limbo land.
